RHU AND SHANDON COMMUNITY COUNCIL MINUTE OF ORDINARY MEETING HELD AT RHU COMMUNITY HALL, WEDNESDAY 8TH DECEMBER, 2010 WELCOME: Extended to all by Jan who was substituting for Archie(Convenor). (Guest) Pat Pollok-Morris Apologies: Archie McColl (Convenor) Provost William Petrie (Guest) ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTE OF MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDSAY 13TH OCTOBER, 2010 Proposed By Pat Seconded By John( Subject to two changes being made see Matter’s Arising) GUEST SPEAKER:- Captain Jack Tarr of HMNB Clyde gave a most informative and interesting presentation on the future of HMNB Clyde. This was augmented with an informative handout covering the subjects of the presentation. The presentation was followed by a question and answer session. GUEST SPEAKER:- James Leatherby R.N. General discussion - nothing to report. MATTERS ARISING:- Pat advised that the Minute of the 13th October, 2010 under Member’s Reports should read £20,000 and not £13,300 Jack advised that the Minute of 13th October, 2010 under Member’s Reports should be amended to show that a Formal decision had not been reached on any proposed site for a second Petrol Station either in Helensburgh or Rhu Marina. PUBLIC QUESTION TIME:- No Member’s of the Public were in attendance at the meeting. TREASURER’S REPORT:- Treasurer had received a cheque for £26 from Easy Fund Raising. CORRESPONDENCE:- Jan advised that as Secretary she was still receiving reminders of dates of meetings for the Helensburgh and Lomond Action Group. (Engagement and Consultation). MEMBER’S REPORTS:- JOHN Advised that the Website was a bit out of date but should be brought up to date by the weekend. John to check what facilities are available for free Websites. Jack suggested that space might be available on Argyll and Bute Council Website. John confirmed that our Web Name has been paid for for 4 years and commenced on the 6th March, 2010. JACK Lack of Grit Bins at Stuckenduff. Should a list be produced of where Grit Bins are situated?. Jan commented on the missing Grit Bins in Rhu and will persue this matter with Argyll and Bute Council. COLIN Nothing MARTIN Broken Step at entrance to Bin Area/Playpark Manse Brae. Jan to persue with Stuart McCracken Argyll and Bute Council. PAT Advised on the closure of The Shop, Manse Brae. Colin advised that Spy’s Joiners was relocating. Both premises had been bought by Wilson’s of Rhu. GORDON Advised that he has reported faulty Street Lights including the light above the bus stop, in the centre of Rhu on the seaward side of the A814 Number (R41A). Gas works still ongoing. Re-surfacing will not now take place until 2011. JAN Advised on behalf of Archie and herself that there was a good turnout at the Remembrance Service in Rhu on the 14th November, 2010.
